What It's Like

You need to learn about JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) and want to do so through a diverse and intercultural lens. In our workshop, after opening your mind in the hands-on activity, you'll learn how to navigate your discomfort, become a better ally, and cultivate a culture of accountability in your workplace.

You want your dollars to support social and environmental impact. Smith Assembly participates in 1% for the Planet, donates an additional 5% of our revenue every year to community-led and values-aligned nonprofits driving local innovation, is a Certified B Corporation™, and is a Certified WBE.

You want a creative and productive experience that encourages connection, reflection, and conversation. In our workshop, before reflecting on JEDI, you'll learn about the lives/communities of two innovators from Oaxaca Mexico while listening to music, watching videos, and doing a hands-on activity they co-created for you.

2-Minute Sneak Peek

Our workshop has a number of accessibility features — videos have captions/subtitles, the presentation has voice overs, and there's a separate text file with transcriptions and descriptions.

What You Learn

Workplace Integration

From day one, we've been intentional about making JEDI a pillar of our business. We knew a lot about diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice before we founded Smith Assembly. Over the past few years, we’ve learned a great deal more about each of those topics as well as how to integrate JEDI into the workplace (especially after completing the B Corp certification process). That said, we’re human-centered innovation consultants. So, when we decided to add this lesson into our course, we hired a SHRM-SCP to co-create it with us.

Co-Created With A SHRM-SCP®

We’d like to introduce you to Robin Eastman, our co-creation partner for the workplace integration section of our workshop. Before becoming an entrepreneur, she worked for over a decade in HR and Social Work (the final four+ years of which for Amazon as a Leadership Development Program Specialist). Robin maintains her status as a SHRM-SCP through a variety of startup, educational, and volunteering initiatives.
